Areas of Interest
C leaning/Animal Interaction: Assist in cleaning and the
care/socialization of the animals. Includes dog walking and cat petting.
Behavior Modification: Along with Animal Interaction, teach
shelter dogs basic commands using NAHS training techniques.
Greeter: You will greet the public as they arrive, have them sign
in and take them into the back areas explaining our adoption matching
process. You will ask questions to define the kind of animal that would
do well in their home and answer their questions. Advanced training
required.
Education: Assist with the implementation of humane education programs.
Office Assistance: Greet visitors, answer telephone, picture taking, various clerical tasks as assigned.
Outreach: Represent NAHS at various events throughout the community.
Professional/Fundraising: Coordinate current fundraising events, as well as develop and plan new events.
Pet Therapy: Visit area nursing homes on a regular schedule. Requires owning an animal suitable for visits and proof of current immunizations.
Home Project Team: Complete collating, stuffing, mailing, etc projects at home at your convenience.
Foster Homes: Provide home environment for young, underweight, ill, and injured cats and dogs, giving them a better chance at becoming adoptable pets.
Special Teams: Complete projects pertaining to public relations, media, carpentry, plumbing, electric, building maintenance, yard work, etc. Contacted on an as needed basis.
