The Douglas Fund It all started with a lovable dog named Douglas who was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Douglas required surgery on both hips. The staff and volunteers began The Douglas Fund to raise money for sweet Douglas’ surgeries. Thanks to many generous donations, Douglas was granted a second chance at unconditional love.

Now in his new home, Douglas has fully recovered from both hip surgeries. However, there are more animals in need like Douglas. From time to time, NAHS receives animals that require some extra medical attention to make them adoptable. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our donors, these animals receive the veterinary care they so desperately deserve, just like Douglas!
