NAHS is pleased to team up with BMO Harris Bank to offer a seminar on planned giving options titled "Maximizing the Tax Benefits of Charitable Gifts".  The seminar will be May 21, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Naperville Chamber of Commerce, Meeting Room A, located at 55 S. Main Street, Suite 351, in downtown Naperville.

A Wealth Advisor from BMO Harris Bank will explain planned giving strategies that will maximize benefits to both the donor and NAHS. 

We invited all kids, grades 3-5, to participate in our annual story contest in honor of Be Kind to Animals Week.  Children came up with super creative and heartwarming endings to Duke's story.  Click here to read Duke's story.

Each grade level winner of this contest will receive time with the staff and animals at the Naperville Area Humane Society. They will receive a NAHS t-shirt, get a “behind the scenes” tour, have lunch and enjoy hands on fun with the shelter cats and dogs. 

It's always hard to pick just one winner from each grade level.  (A drawing gave the entrants extra credit!) We would like to thank all those who took the time to enter this year.

Come join us on Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Seager Park in Naperville to learn fun ways to keep you and your pet healthy.  There will be fun activities, health screenings and healthy tips for both people and pets.  Pets welcome!  Area businesses that will be showcasing their healthy products and services include Edward Hospital, Narnia Pet Behavior and Training, Wehrli Frisbee Dogs, Doga (doggy yoga), Out U Go! Naperville, Pet Reiki and Communication, Spay Illinois, Chiro One Wellness, LaVida Massage, YMCA, Paws in Time, Vitality Chiropractic Care, and Two Bostons.  It will be a fun day where you can try Doga, exercise with YMCA, watch a Frisbee Dog demonstration and more.  See you there!

Support NAHS while enjoying an afternoon of golf, plus cocktails and dinner.  The annual Putts for Pets golf outing will be Monday, July 8, 2013, at Cress Creek Country Club.  Registration includes lunch, golf with a cart, beverages on the course, cocktails and dinner as well as a live and silent auction.  This is our second largest fundraiser raising much needed funds to support the homeless pets we serve.

Join us for an evening of dinner and dancing to raise money for NAHS.  This year the Black Cat Ball will be held at The Hilton in Lisle.  The event is Friday, October 4, 2013.  Save the date!  More information to come.
