Adopt a Cat

Listed below are the cats currently available for adoption at NAHS. Kittens under the age of 5 months are typically not listed because they find new homes quickly. If you're interested in kittens under the age of 5 months, please call the shelter for more information. The list of available cats is updated frequently, so please check the site often. For more information our adoption process, click here. Just because I'm 13 doesn't mean I'm not still a busy guy. First, I need to check out what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets need looking into. Finally, I'll move on to help you while you're working at the computer, or whatever else you might be doing. And then there are my naps -- I can't be late for those! I always have time, however, for hanging out with you! I'm affectionate, snuggly, and gentle! I do like some toys, but I like it best when you can play with me. Having someone to care for me who's not away from home very much is my dream. Are you that person? Visit with me, and you just might realize that you and I are meant to be.

Here I am on the desk: the perfect office helper. If someone is working at the computer, I'm right there making sure things are done correctly. Some people might say that I'm a stereotypical cat, coming to you when I want attention. While it is true that I want attention on my terms, I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm generally pretty calm, but when the mood strikes me, I like to chase little mouse toys. I don't mind some other cats, but I'm not too sure about dogs; if you ask me, they're big, clumsy, noisy, and they smell weird.  I think children in my new home should be at least 8 years old.

Luke 1Y 3M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

I am a very shy guy and the staff and volunteers here have been working very hard to help me become more comfortable.  I have come a long way, but I still have a ways to go, so my new family will need to be very patient with me.  I think it will help if there is another playful and friendly cat in my new home to help show me the ropes.  I can be quiet curious and playful and love to play with paper.  I like the sound it makes!  So if you willing to open your home and your heart to a sweet guy like me, stop by and meet me.

Hi there! A couple of lovable, huggable seniors here looking for a place to call home together. We won't ask for much; just a nice spot to snuggle up together, maybe a window to watch the world go by... we're very easy to please! Stop on by and meet us soon!

Twinkles 4Y 3M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

If you're looking to add some sparkle in your life, I'm the girl for you!  I'm friendly, affectionate, and sometimes chatty, what more could you ask for?  I would prefer a house that is more on the calm and quiet side, where I can relax in the sun and watch the birds outside the window.  I could probably live with another calm cat, but I don't think I have ever met a dog before.  Maybe if they are calm and know to respect my space it might be OK.  I can't wait for you to come and meet me and see how great I am for yourself!
