Name Age Breed Sex Status Declawed Status
Buster 7Y 7M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

Are you looking for a cat that loves people and will meet you at the door when you come home?  Then look no further, I'm your man!  My previous owners said that I am outgoing and very curious.  If possible, I would like to go to my new home with my friend Pumpkin.  It would be best if there were no dogs in my new home and if children are at least 8 years old.

Cake Pop 4Y 6M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

I'm as sweet as my name implies. I'm affectionate, playful, chatty, outgoing, and cuddly. I know this because my former family told me so. If I’m so great, then why am I here?  There were some family changes, and unfortunately they couldn't care for me any longer. Sometimes new situations can be stressful for me, but I'll adjust pretty quickly.  Just pay a lot of attention to me, and I should be fine.

Charmed and Shadow 12Y 8M Domestic Shorthair Female, Male Available Charmed, No; Shadow, All Four

We’re a pair of best friends who’ve been together almost all of our lives, and we’d like to enjoy our senior years in a calm, quite home. We’re quite shy, so a household without a lot of activity is where we’d be happiest. It would also be ideal if our new human companion(s) were home a lot so that we could get a lot of attention. The minute you start to pet either of us, we become purring machines. We do require a special lifetime prescription diet and would enjoy being the only pets in the house.

Gypsy 6Y 4M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

Hi there, my name is Gypsy! Don't you just love my unique coloring? I think it gives me a lot of character. I came to NAHS because my owners didn't have enough time for me, so now I'm looking for a family that is going to give me all the love and attention I deserve. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you I am very affectionate and playful. I might be okay living with another friendly, mellow cat and a calm, gentle dog might be fine as well. Because I can be a little shy at first, I think children in my new home should be at least 5 years or older.

Lacie 6Y 2M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

I'm a friendly girl who will be happiest with someone who has a lot of time to spend with me. I get a little stressed out when I'm home alone. My previous family said that I'm pretty needy and that I might have some separation anxiety. I like lots of different types of toys: glitter balls, feathers, toy mice, and catnip. I also like jump at those wand-type toys with a feather on the end. F-U-N! Because of my desire for a calm, quiet home, I'd be best without children (too much activity) and no other pets.

Licorice 9Y 1M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

What's a sweet and handsome guy like me doing here?  Well I'll be honest, I'm not really sure.  I was found in a parking lot and brought to NAHS when nobody claimed me at animal control.  I like being near people and getting attention, but I can be a little shy at first.  One of the quickest ways to my heart is through treats.  Give me one (or two) and I'll be your best friend!  I seem to get along with most other cats but I'm not sure if I've ever met a dog before.  Don't wait too long to come say hi!

Loretta 2Y 7M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

If it weren't for the kindness of strangers, I might not be here (or anywhere) to tell my story. I was found in an Oklahoma cornfield nursing a litter of newborn kittens. When I came to NAHS (after a long ride with a bunch of dogs), I'd really never had anyone to care about me. It's taken me a while to get used to attention, but sometimes I even ask for it now. I need a very patient, understanding family who willl let me get used to new surroundings on my own schedule. Going to a new home where nothing is familiar to me will be stressful and scary. When I'm comfortable and trusting, I'm quite playful and curious. I'd be best in a calm home with older kids.

Pumpkin 7Y 7M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

I've been told I'm sweeter than pumpkin pie and people love me more than pumpkin spice lattes!  I love attention and really like playing with laser pointers and feather toys.  I came in with my friend Buster, and would like to go home with him if possible.  Do you have room in your home for a playful, affectionate guy like me?  I'll be waiting for you to come meet me!

Sasha 8Y 7M Domestic Longhair Female Available Front

What's my ideal home you ask?  I would prefer one that is quiet and calm since I am a little more reserved.  I was brought to NAHS because not one, but two new babies joined my family and that stressed me out a little too much.  Because of this, children in my new home should be older.  When I am comfortable with people I am very affectionate and like playing with feather toys, laser lights, and yarn.  If you're looking for a gentle and loving cat stop in and ask to see me soon!

Waldo 6Y 5M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

Where's Waldo? I'm here… the orange tabby wearing the brown collar. I don't have to worry about blending in with the crowd, because in my opinion, I'm one in a million. I was found wandering the streets of Chicago, all alone, just wanting someone to care for me. I'm very thankful now to have a safe place to be and nothing to worry about. I'm a pretty gentle guy, and my idea of a great day would be bird watching (from inside the house), sleeping in the sun, having a bite to eat, nudging you for some pets, and repeating. I am FIV positive, but that doesn't mean I can't live a normal life. My stress level should be kept as low as possible, and I should definitely have yearly vet visits. If you're lucky enough to welcome me into your family, please don't dress me in a red and white stiped shirt.  LOL!
