Adopt a Cat

Listed below are the cats currently available for adoption at NAHS. Kittens under the age of 5 months are typically not listed because they find new homes quickly. If you're interested in kittens under the age of 5 months, please call the shelter for more information. The list of available cats is updated frequently, so please check the site often. For more information our adoption process, click here. Catarina 9Y 9M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

Here I am on the desk: the perfect office helper. If someone is working at the computer, I'm right there making sure things are done correctly. Some people might say that I'm a stereotypical cat, coming to you when I want attention. While it is true that I want attention on my terms, I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm generally pretty calm, but when the mood strikes me, I like to chase little mouse toys. I don't mind some other cats, but I'm not too sure about dogs; if you ask me, they're big, clumsy, noisy, and they smell weird.  I think children in my new home should be at least 8 years old.

Cubby 11Y 2M Domestic Shorthair Male Available Front

I'm hoping some of the Cubs' luck is going to rub off on me and I'll find a grand slam of a home!  Ha ha… get it?  I crack myself up.  I'm a mellow guy who's looking to spend my days laying on a soft bed, looking out the window.  I seem to get along well with the other cats in the shelter but I'm not sure if I've met a dog.  Maybe if they are calm like me we would be able to cohabitate.  Hopefully there aren't any goats though!  LOL,  see, don't you want a funny guy to add to your home?  I’m kind of needy and don’t like to be alone very much, so if your personality fits mine, come see how great I am for yourself!

Jordan 10Y 2M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

Do you have a quiet home and are looking for a bit of company?  Maybe a mellow cat is just what you need!  I like to spend my days lounging on the bed and getting a nice neck rub from my human.  When the mood strikes I can be quite playful and enjoy feather toys, toy mice, and catnip.  I would like to be the only pet in my new home so I can have all the love and attention to myself.  Children in my new home should be a little bit older as I can startle easily.  If you think we would be a good match, hurry on in!

Lady Elaine 7Y 4M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

I'm Lady Elaine!  It's a regal name for an elegant girl like me.  I'm pretty easygoing and will do best in a nice quiet home where I can relax and find a comfortable spot to nap.  While I'm not necessarily a lap cat, I do enjoy being next to my human.  When I'm not napping I enjoy playing with feathers, wand toys, and of course catnip!  I may be okay with another cat but I don't know how I'd do with a dog.  I will add a touch of elegance to any home I go in!

Stella 10Y 5M Domestic Shorthair Female Available All Four

Don't you think I just have the most striking green eyes?  I do, I also think my reddish coat really makes them pop.  One thing you should really know about me is that I love to talk.  I'll be the first one you hear when you walk in the door.  I love to snuggle up in big, fluffy cat beds, so I think one in my new home is a must.  Wouldn't you agree?  I think I would prefer to be your only pet but I might be ok with another calm cat.  It would also be best if children were at least 12 years old.  So if you're looking for someone to keep the house from getting too quiet, I'm your girl!
