Cats for Adoption
Listed below are the cats we currently have available for adoption at our shelter. We do not typically list the kittens available for adoption because they find new homes so quickly. Please call the shelter to learn more about the kittens we currently have at the shelter. We update this list frequently, so check back often. Rex 10 Y Domestic Shorthair M Front Only Adopted
Hello, I'm Rex! I'm a lovable kind of guy who would love nothing better than to spend my days basking in the sunlight and watching the birds fly by. I would prefer to be the only pet in your home, and I am on a special diet. Stop by and that staff can tell you all about how wonderful I am.
Waldorf 2 Y Domestic Shorthair M Front Only Available
I arrived at the shelter with my brother, Statler, when our owner got a new roommate who was allergic to cats. We've been making ourselves useful in the NAHS lobby, but would really prefer to find a loving home. I enjoy taking naps, playing with feathers and giving kitty kisses. Kids in my new home should be old enough to know that although I love to play, sometimes I need some quiet time too!
Vixen 2 Y Domestic Longhair F N Available
I'm a pretty social girl who enjoys affection, but I usually like to be petted on and around my head. I'm very good at letting you know when I've had enough attention, if you know what I mean, so kids in my new home should be older. I do like to play laser pointer tag and to chase toys that roll around, but I'm uncomfortable with other animals, so I'll need to be the only pet in the house.
Baby 7 M Domestic Shorthair F N Available
I'll be honest, my life so far has been rough. As a kitten, I was found behind a dumpster. I was very glad to be in a safe, warm home but then my owner became ill and couldn't care for me. Now that I'm in another new place, I'm a little scared. Although I can be shy, once I get to know you, I love to snuggle and play. I really hope a patient family will come and show me that the world is a safe and loving place.
Luigi 9 M Domestic Shorthair M N Available
If you're looking for a social, playful and cuddly kitten - then I'm your guy! I enjoy spending time with other cats, taking long naps and batting around toys. Kids in my new home should be old enough to understand that I'm still a naughty kitten and might play a little rough at times. Hopefully, a handsome guy like me will get adopted quickly, so stop by to play with me soon!
Statler 2 Y Domestic Shorthair M Front Only Available
I arrived at the shelter with my brother, Waldorph, when our owner got a new roommate who was allergic to cats. We've been making ourselves useful in the NAHS lobby, but would really prefer to find a loving home. I like lounging in cat trees, chasing the laser pointer and taking napes. Kids in my new home should be old enough to know that although I love to play, sometimes I need some quiet time too!
Carmen 7 Y Domestic Shorthair F N Available
I am a very sweet girl who can be a bit shy in new situations, but will adapt quickly. I love to sit on laps and will keep you warm at night snuggled up next to you in bed. I have lived with a cat and dog before and that was just fine by me. If you want to meet me, I'll be waiting for you in the front lobby! Just ask for Carmen :)
Sarah 2 Y Domestic Longhair F N Available
My sister Dottie and I were no longer wanted by our owner. She wanted to open the door and toss us out, but luckily her son brought us here instead. We're quiet, sweet girls who would enjoy going to our new home together, but we don't have to. I'm FIV positive, but don't let that scare you. I can live a long life, if I'm cared for properly and don't experience much stress. I probably shouldn't live with any pets (unless it's my sister) because of the stress, and I'll need someone to help keep my long hair tangle free. Kids in my new home should be at least 8 years old.
Dottie 1 Y Domestic Shorthair F N Available
My sister Sarah and I were no longer wanted by our owner. She wanted to open the door and toss us out, but luckily her son brought us here instead. We're quiet, sweet girls who would enjoy going to our new home together, but we don't have to. I'm a little more outgoing and curious. I can live with other cats, but I don't know if I like dogs or not. I can live with children 8 years and older.
Gardenia 2 Y Domestic Shorthair F N Available
Wow, I've been at NAHS for an entire year. I was found as a stray just before New Year's Eve 2010, and have had a hard time adjusting to life at the shelter. All the sounds and people here can be a bit intimidating to me, but once I get to know somebody I love to snuggle. Are you the right person to show me the world isn't such a scary place? I promise to repay you with lots of love.
