Welcome to the Naperville Area Humane Society, a great place to adopt a dog or cat, but also a great resource for petcare information! Our Humane Education programs include after-school events and support for Youth at Risk. Community Services include our Behavior Helpline and Pet Therapy. NAHS is a great place to volunteer your services, whether it be caring for the animals, fundraising events or community outreach..
New for Adoption
Chihuli
Not sure why I was named after a famous glass artist. I think my name sounds more like some type of chili pepper or a fancy drink. Anyway, I digress. I found myself stray around the holiday season; not a very merry Christmas for me. But the new year looks bright now that I have a chance at a new home. I'm playful and I enjoy affection, but when I'm done, I'm done, and smaller children might not understand. I can sometimes be afraid in new situations, but given a little time, I'll warm right up!
I'm a laid back kind of guy who can be a little nervous in new situations, but will adjust quickly with some TLC. I don't care too much for toys and would probably not be comfortable with smaller kids fawning over me, so kids in my new home should be a bit older. I do get along with some dogs, but they would have to be on the calm side. I also wouldn't mind living with a cat or two. I'll be waiting patiently to meet you!
ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs essential veterinary care from an illness or injury. Also, every time a completed application for ShelterCare program is generated through our shelter's website, we automatically receive a $25 donation!
